Mr. Koziarek has been working in Polish real estate banking since 1992. For the last 11 years, he was Managing Director at Bank Pekao, responsible for commercial real estate finance. Under his management, Pekao was one of the only banks to maintain its real estate finance activities after the collapse of Lehman Brothers and so became a key real estate lender in Poland.
From 1999 to 2006, he held senior positions at HypoVereinsbank Group, Bank Austria Group and then at UniCredit Group, which resulted from the merger of Bank Austria and UniCredit. Responsibilities included Director of the Real Estate Analysis & Monitoring Department.
In the 1990’s at BISE Bank, Mr. Koziarek was Director responsible for real estate, adapting Western lending concepts to the early years of the Polish free-market economy.
Mr. Koziarek holds a combined M.B.A. from Warsaw University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Warsaw University.
