Joel S. Peck     CEO & Co-Founder

    • Mr. Peck is an attorney, with an extensive background in real estate investment banking and insurance in the US and internationally. Mr. Peck has a B.A. in Economics (Honors) from the University of Wisconsin and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He practiced law in New York and then joined Lehman Brothers, where he worked for 16 years, becoming Senior Vice President, Real Estate Investment Banking.

      Subsequently he was Managing Director of Eastgate Realty, the European real estate acquisitions and development arm of the Ofer Group. He also was a Director of Equity Global Properties, the joint venture between the Ofer Group and Sam Zell’s Equity International.

      In 2002, Mr Peck joined LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. to head International Services, with the mission of expanding LandAmerica’s insurance business in Canada and Mexico and introducing Title Insurance in the European and Asia Pacific markets. Following the acquisition of LandAmerica by Fidelity National Financial, Inc., he continued to be responsible for strategic development of the company’s international insurance business.

      Mr. Peck is a recognised authority on the use of insurance to mitigate the risks of property acquisitions and mortgage finance. In addition to his experience in the European real estate markets, which are the markets which will be targeted by SLTC, he has been responsible for LandAmerica and Fidelity’s reinsurance relationships with Lloyd’s of London Legal Indemnity underwriters and coverholders, and thus he has specific expertise in that market.
